A Message from Michael Bolton, National Chairman
In 1990, my childhood friend Joel Brander established THIS CLOSE for Cancer Research, Inc., a group of dedicated professionals and volunteers who believed then, as I believe now, that we can and will find a cure for cancer. It has been my honor to serve as the National Chairman of this all-volunteer non-profit organization since its inception.
Dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, THIS CLOSE depends on the support of all of you. In the face of a difficult economy, combined with a political climate that has brought increased awareness to many other worthy organizations, we are so very grateful, now, more than ever, for your support. The Brander Cancer Research Institute at New York Medical College continues to work towards developing new protocols in cancer research.
I look forward to the day when we celebrate our victory in the war against cancer, and I have no doubt that we will have reason to celebrate in this decade.
The number of us who will be affected by cancer, directly or indirectly, grows each day. That fact, combined with our belief that we are so very close to finding a cure for this devastating illness, emphasizes the need for a renewed and vigorous commitment of our focus and perseverance. Please accept our deep appreciation, knowing that you have brought us much closer to a cure for cancer.
